Welcome to this new online community where the imaginal cells of our cultural transformation can find inspiration and support through the spiritual practice
I call Ecstatic Wisdom Postures.
Anthropologist, Dr. Felicitas D. Goodman, discovered that imitating the pose of an ancestral artifact while listening to the rhythm of drum/rattle opens the door to direct experience of sacred reality and the wisdom of ecstasy. She died at the age of 91 in 2005, leaving behind a potent, profound legacy which is good medicine for our modern souls.
She once said to me that she hoped she would live
to see small groups of modern urban people
all around the globe
communing with the spirits.
She saw the peoples' faces lit by the council fire
in the center of each circle.
It is for Felicitas that I bring this online community of council fires into being.

not quite a movement, but a movement charger."

I think Joseph Campbell would have loved Ecstatic Wisdom Postures. Postures allow us to experience the mystery within and to listen to our bodymind. Read what Campbell had to say in:The Hero’s Journey – Joseph Campbell – His Life and his Work
P 158 …I think of mythology as a function of biology. Let’s say that every organ of the body has its energy impulse, an impulse to action and the experience of the conflicts of these different energies inside, is what constitutes the psyche…It’s nature talking. And mythology is the expression in personified images of these energies.
When we hold an ancient human pose while listening to the drum/rattle, our own personal mythology rises to awareness. We become more conscious of the mysterium tremendum in which our lives unfold. And that's transformative wisdom.
